Since 1996, Algamar has been the first Spanish company specializing exclusively in the harvesting and processing of Atlantic seaweed for food. We offer a wide range of certified organic Atlantic seaweed and its products, specifically tailored to the diverse needs of the market and our customers. We develop ranges for the organic (Algamar), HORECA and foodservice (Algas Mar de Ardora), and retail (Delialga) channels, as well as formats and bulk products specifically designed for manufacturers or intermediaries. Our "family" has grown and currently includes a full team of professionals and specialists, as well as two modern factories equipped with the latest advances in technology, machinery, work equipment, and procedures, adapted to the requirements of traditional seaweed processing for food and other uses, always under the highest food quality standards (IFS FOOD and CRAEGA Organic Certification), as well as adapted to the new challenges facing today. All of this puts Algamar at the forefront of the sector, without losing our essence, our origins, or our ecological, sustainable, and "slow food" philosophy. Thanks to all this, Algamar has received several important awards throughout its history, most notably the recent 2023 Spanish Food Award for Organic Production, where Algamar was honored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food with this important, high-level recognition. Some of the seaweed species we work with include wakame, kombu, sea spaghetti, sea lettuce, barnacle seaweed (codium, velvet horn), dulse, nori, and more. Our organic seaweed has important nutritional properties (protein content, significant concentrations of mineral salts and vitamins, highly prebiotic dietary fiber, bioactive compounds with functional properties on the body, and no sugars or fats), organoleptic properties (marine aromas and flavors, vegan seafood and fish flavors, natural flavour enhancers, striking colours), textural properties (natural thickeners and gelling agents), which make it a highly healthy, very tasty, versatile, multifunctional, attractive and innovative food, condiment or ingredient, both in traditional and avant-garde cuisine, as an ingredient for manufacturers, or on the store shelf.
