Cleaned squid I.Q.F.

Scientific name: Loligo Duvauceli. Species of squid that can be found in the Indian Ocean, usually measuring between 15 and 30 cm.

Origin: India/China.

Fishing area: FAO Zone 51. FAO Zone 51 is located in the Indian Ocean and extends from the east coast of India to the east coast of Africa, reaching the 45th meridian south. This zone is in turn divided into eight sub-zones.

Presentation: 1 kg bag in I.Q.F. The acronym IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) means individual quick freezing and is applied to food, in this case frozen fish. We can only find I.Q.F. clean squid in 1 kg bags.

Size: The sizes of I.Q.F. clean squid are U5, 6/10, 10/20 and 20/40. U5 contains 5 pieces of I.Q.F. cleaned squid per kg. 6/10 contains 6 to 10 pieces of I.Q.F. cleaned squid per kg. 10/20 contains 10 to 20 pieces of I.Q.F. cleaned squid per kg. 20/40 contains 20 to 40 pieces of I.Q.F. cleaned squid per kg.

Packaging: Packaging of I.Q.F. cleaned squid can be 10 bags of 1 kg or 6 bags of 1 kg.

Glaze: The glaze corresponds to the amount of water contained in the frozen products. This glaze varies depending on the products and the type of freezing. At Torry Harris we prefer transparency and the glaze is always true to life.

Box: The size of the box of I.Q.F. cleaned squid can be 10 kg or 6 kg.

Palletizing: We always work with a European pallet, which measures 80 x 12 x 14.4 cm. When palletizing it, we try to maximize it for transport, reaching 1.90 m in height. In the case of squid, the number of boxes may vary depending on their size.
